Springs and zippers: coiled coils in SNARE-mediated membrane fusion.
A conserved molecular machinery based on SNARE proteins catalyzes most, if not all, cellular membrane fusion events. A flurry of recent biophysical studies have established a detailed molecular picture of the core SNARE complex. Structural and biochemical analysis of the SNARE machinery is rapidly advancing our understanding of the specificity, regulation and protein catalysis of membrane fusion.
متن کاملDetermination of the Optimal Reduction Ratio for Least Springback during Cold Drawing of Seamless Tubes
Cold drawing process is one of the most used metals forming processes in industries for forming seamless tubes. This process of plastic deformation of metals occurs below the recrystallization temperature and is generally performed at room temperature. When metal is cold worked, upon the release of forming force, the springback occurs. In this paper, the springback effect of the seamless tube t...
متن کاملHot & Cold Working
Q.1. What is hot working ? State its principles, advantages and disadvantages. Ans. Mechanical working of metals above its recrystallisation temperature is known as hot working. Advantages : 1. Larger deformation can be accomplished and more rapidly by hot working since the metal is in plastic state. 2. Porosity of the metal is considerably minimised. 3. Concentrated impurities, if any in the m...
متن کاملCoiled Coils Direct Assembly of a Cold-Activated TRP Channel
Transient receptor potential (TRP) channels mediate numerous sensory transduction processes and are thought to function as tetramers. TRP channel physiology is well studied; however, comparatively little is understood regarding TRP channel assembly. Here, we identify an autonomously folded assembly domain from the cold- and menthol-gated channel TRPM8. We show that the TRPM8 cytoplasmic C-termi...
متن کاملEffect of Constitutive Equations on Prediction Accuracy for Springback in Cold Stamping of TRIP1180
The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of constitutive equations on the prediction accuracy for springback in cold stamping with various deformation modes. In this study, two types of yield functions—Hill’48 and Yld2000-2d—were considered to describe yield behavior. Isotropic and kinematic hardening models based on the Yoshida–Uemori model were also adopted to describe hardening ...
